TOUR AND TOURNAMENT FORMAT

The NAGT provides tournaments in Nebraska in the cities of Omaha, Lincoln, and surrounding areas. Each tournament is flighted, based off of handicaps, into divisions and will utilize stroke-play for its format. The season will consist of 10 - 15 tournaments starting in April and ending in October. Members can qualify for "Player of the Year" honors by competing in 5 or more tournaments with only the top 8 tournaments counting. "Player of the Year" honors will be awarded based off of performance and not attendance. The top 8 tournaments will allow a fair chance for every member to compete for POY in the event a member can not make all of the tournaments. Two tournaments a year will be "Majors" and will count as double points towards the POY race.

TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION

Registration can be completed online at www.nagtgolf.com or via the NAGT App. Each tournament will have a limited number of entries and occurs on a first come first serve basis. It is the responsibility of the player to submit the required entry fee prior to the entry deadline, which is completed via the website or app. If the entry fee is not submitted prior to the entry deadline, the next person in line will be notified to register and submit payment. Entry fee typically includes all green fees, cart fees, range balls, scoring, prize fund and trophies.

Please relay any questions regarding a specific tournament to the tournament director found on the "Contact Us" page. If you need additional support or help please email us at support@nagtgolf.com.

TOURNAMENT PRIZES

The winner in each division will be awarded a trophy to help celebrate the victory. A portion of the entry fee is used to generate the prize fund which can be variable due to player entries or withdrawals from tournaments. In order for members to maintain an amateur status, all prizes will be paid out in accordance with the USGA Rules of Amateur Status and will be in the form of a Visa Gift Card.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR

"Player of the Year" honors will be given to the top finisher in each division at the end of the season. Each member will accumulate points based on their individual performance at each event. In order to qualify for POY, members must participate in a minimum of 5 tournaments. POY points will only be taken from a members top 8 events. This prevents a member from winning POY based on attendance rather than performance. Points are shown in the table below:

SCORING

Scoring will be completed via two methods: the NAGT App and paper scorecards. The paper scorecard will be considered the official scoring method for every NAGT event. Players are responsible that each hole has the correct score on it. At the conclusion of the event, players will review their hole-by-hole scores. After scores are validated by both the scorer and witness, both members will sign the scorecard to be considered complete. Scores are final, once a player has signed the card and has left the scoring area.

BUNKER PLAY

The NAGT highly encourages all tournament players to lift, rake and place all bunker shots. Due to the possibility of the public playing ahead of a NAGT tournament, this is the only way to make it fair across the tournament in the event a ball was to land in a footprint, unraked bunker, etc. Enjoy!

UNVALIDATED PLAYERS - OUT OF DIVISION SCORES

An unvalidated player is a player that has yet to play in an event, even if they have a USGA GHIN. Once a player plays in six (6) events on tour, the player will have established a NAGT handicap that was created by BlueGolf's Tournament Index. These (6) events may come in consecutive years in order to become validated, but a member will lose their validation if a year is skipped. BlueGolf has a proven Tournament Index, which is in line with the USGA 5.2 calculation of a handicap for less than 20 rounds, that will automatically place members in the correct flight based on tournament scores. In the interest of protecting the integrity of the tour, the Tournament Director will have the right to disqualify an unvalidated player if the player posts a single round score that is more than 4 strokes (Div. 2/3) or 5 strokes (Div. 4/5) below their division handicap cut off or an unvalidated player wins by more than 3 strokes against the second lowest player in their division. Disqualification will be looked at by the Tournament Director on a case by case basis and the director will base the decision on what is best for the Tour and its integrity.

TIEBREAKERS

All ties for 1st place, in each division, will be determined by a sudden-death playoff on the the course. The sudden death holes will take place as long as the weather permits, the course is available and there is enough daylight. Playoff holes will be determined by course officials. If an on-course playoff is not available, a scorecard playoff will be utilized and will be based off the number 1 handicap hole and will follow in order until a winner is declared. When it comes to payouts, ties will be determined by a scorecard playoff. For points only, ties will receive equal points for anything after 1st place.

CHECK-IN & STARTING

Players are required to check-in with the tournament director or staff at the NAGT tent at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the players tee time.

It is the player's responsibility to be at their assigned starting hole approximately 10 minutes prior to the tee time for introductions and scorecard exchanges. A player arriving more than 5 minutes after their tee time will be disqualified. It is of most importance that members are on time in order to keep pace of play to the course standards. The NAGT's goal is to maintain a positive relationship with course management in order to secure future tournaments.

If the tournament is a shotgun start, announcements will be made 20 minutes prior to the shotgun start time. Course officials will lead groups to their perspective holes and members will start at the exact time indicated on the tournament information page. It is important that groups start at the exact time, no earlier no later, in order to keep the pace of play even across the field.

PAIRINGS

All pairings will be done through the NAGT tournament committee. Players will be notified 24 hours prior to the the start of the tournament on the NAGT app. Please do not contact the course directly as they have no information on the pairings. All questions should go through the NAGT website or the NAGT app.

TOURNAMENT CANCELLATIONS/NO SHOWS

Withdrawal from any event is to be completed as per each tournament policy. Players can initiate a cancellation through BlueGolf by requesting a cancellation under their profile. Players who withdraw prior to the cancellation deadline will be subject to a cancellation fee. No-shows will automatically forfeit the entry fee.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

Certain weather-related conditions may delay or suspend play including: rain, lighting, weather warnings, or the host facility deeming the course unplayable. Decisions regarding beginning, delaying, or stopping play will be relayed to the players via the Tour's app email and/or text.

If there is a delay or suspension, every effort will be made to complete the entire event; however, if a weather delay prevents a tournament from finishing, the tournament may be shortened to 9-holes in order to count as an official tournament. If this is not possible, the tournament may be rescheduled.

While the tour will do everything possible to complete the full tournament, there will be no refunds should inclement weather shorten the event. If a tournament is scheduled and unable to be completed, all available refunds and optional cash games will be returned in the form of Tournament Credit.

EQUIPMENT & ELECTRONIC DEVICES

Each player may not have more than 14 golf clubs in their bag during a tour event, as per the USGA Rules of Golf and all clubs used must comply with all current USGA Equipment Rules. Violation of these rules may result in penalty or disqualification.

Distance measuring devices, including range finders with slope calculation, are allowed at all NAGT events. Cell phones should always be on silent out of respect for fellow competitors. Use of speakers, headphones and earbuds are not allowed for use during tournament play.

PACE OF PLAY

LEAD GROUPS - Lead groups are expected to maintain proper pace of play unless the lead group catches public play in front of them. Groups are expected to play 9 holes in 2 hours and 15 minutes unless stated otherwise on the tournament information page. If the lead group finishes over their allotted time a 2 stroke penalty will be assessed to the group after each 9 holes. All members should encourage each player in the group to play "ready golf" when applicable.

FOLLOWING GROUPS - Following groups are expected to keep up with the group in front of them at all times. A 2-stroke penalty will be assessed to each group that fails to finish within 14 minutes of the group directly in front of them. Penalties will occur after each 9.

A player concerned about slow player(s) in a group may request an official to monitor the group and offending player(s). If a player has been identified as a "slow" golfer and is holding up the pace of play, penalties may be applied to that player and not the rest of the group. Appeals will only be heard and considered by the tournament director upon completion of the round in order to prevent a delay in the pace of play.

To help facilitate pace of play, a triple bogey max score will be in effect for divisions 3, 4 & 5. If a player reaches a triple bogey on a hole, including penalty strokes, they MUST pick up their ball and discontinue play on that hole.

SPECTATORS & CADDIES

Spectators are welcomed at each NAGT event. Spectators are the player's responsibility and are required to ensure that proper golf etiquette is upheld. If the spectators do not abide by these responsibilities, they will be asked to leave the event. Spectators are expected to walk the course in the event the course has no more carts for rent. Under no circumstances, are spectators allowed to give the player advice. If this occurs, the player will be disqualified.

No personal caddies are allowed at NAGT events unless the course provides a caddie for each group.

GUEST AND PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS

Guest and Prospective Members may play up to two tournaments per year. The NAGT requires that if a guest wants to play in more than two tournaments, they must become a member of the tour. When registering for a tournament, members will have priority over Guest and Prospective Members in the event there is a limit to the field size due to course restrictions. Guest with a USGA GHIN handicap (12 month low) will be placed in the appropriate division and will have the ability to win prizes. All winnings will be in the form of a tournament credit (membership).

Members are encouraged to bring guest to all NAGT events. Unaccompanied Guest are permitted play but may be subject to availability.

DIVISION MANAGEMENT

The purpose of Division Management is to protect the integrity of the Tour. In order to have an elite and competitive experience, members are expected and encouraged to compete in a more competitive division in order to challenge themselves. At any time the NAGT has the right to promote/demote a player in order to protect the tour. This would be used in the event a player was inaccurate about his handicap before establishing a NAGT Tournament Index handicap.

If a member has a verifiable USGA GHIN handicap and a NAGT handicap, the member can only play in one division higher than his USGA GHIN handicap even if the members NAGT handicap is more than one division higher. Disqualification and point reduction may be a result if this policy is not followed.

When a Member’s Tournament Index qualifies for promotion by over .2 of the next lower division, the Member will automatically be promoted to the lower division. The member will retain 100% of their points when they move to their new division unless their points put them ahead of 3rd place in the promoted division. If this scenario occurs, the promoted player will be placed in a tie with 3rd, as the player understands that the points were earned in a less competitive division. In order to qualify for a promotion, a player must have a NAGT handicap and a minimum of four rounds on the NAGT. If a member gets promoted, the member will remain in promoted division for the remainder of the season. This prevents division movement, both up and down, from occurring multiple times throughout the season.

A member who is struggling to be competitive in their current division may request a demotion as long as the tournament data agrees with the move to the higher division. After review from the Tournament Committee, the member will be notified with a decision in a timely fashion so that the member will have a chance to compete in the correct division at the next upcoming tournament. The request must be made six (6) days prior to a tournament. A member can only receive a demotion once per season. A request can only be made once a member's NAGT handicap reaches 2 full strokes higher than the division threshold.

Members who are granted a demotion will be closely monitored in order to protect the integrity of the tour. The NAGT has the right to cancel the demotion at any time if the tour finds the member is capable of competing in the previous division.

MEMBERSHIP CANCELLATION

To cancel your membership, please email the NAGT at suppor@NAGTgolf.com. Membership is non-refundable after a player has either registered for a tour event or 30 days from the date of registration.
